STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

  • STEP 1

    We recommend making sure your jacket is clean before re-proofing to allow the proofer to do it's job. You can't proof dirt.

  • STEP 2

    Empty pockets, close any zippers & loosen any drawstrings.

  • STEP 3

    Spray evenly and liberally from a distance of 15cm, paying close attention to hoods, cuffs and seams.

  • STEP 4

    Take a clean cloth, dampened with proofer and rub over the garment to ensure an even finish.

  • STEP 5

    Storm spray on apparel proofer in an air cure technology. Hang your garment and allow to fully dry before your next adventure.

FAQ'S

Do I need to wash my garment before proofing it?

We always recommend cleaning before proofing as it’s not possible to proof over dirt, be that soil or oil from sun creams etc. We recommend a specially formulated Storm spray cleaner to avoid damaging any the manufacturers original garment treatment.

Why should I use a spray on proofer instead of a wash in proofer?

Spray on proofers give versatility. For example, you may have a garment that cannot be machine washed, you may not have access to a washing machine and you may not wish to clean and proof an entire garment. Having a spray option allows you to target specific areas that are more prone to abrasion and in result, often “wet out”. Shoulders where rucksacks rub & cuffs on jackets are prime examples of areas that are susceptible to damaged DWR and therefore sub-par performance when not treated.
