ALPKIT: BIG SHAKEOUT
We packed up our gear and headed out to Alpkit’s Big Shakeout Festival in the Peak District. A weekend that’s all about adventure, community and camping out in the outdoors.
Hosted by the Alpkit team and powered by a brilliant crew of volunteers, Big Shakeout is more than just a festival. It’s a fundraiser, with 100% of the proceeds funding direct action grass roots projects across the UK. That means every bite of food, every pint of beer and every ticket helps someone else get outdoors.
So what was on offer?

It’s the kind of weekend where you can hike all day, dance all night, and still find time to patch up your jacket in between.
We were there with our crew, camping, chatting, and sharing the good word of gear care. Our stand was stocked with a range of our performance aftercare essentials ready for muddy boots, dirty jackets, and curious minds, we are always happy to chat.
We believe in making gear last, and Big Shakeout is the perfect place to connect with others who feel the same.
Big Shakeout isn’t just a good time, it’s a good cause. By showing up, you’re helping fund outdoor access for communities who need it most. And for us at Storm, it’s a chance to meet the people who live and breathe the outdoors, swap stories, and share what we’ve learned about keeping gear going strong.
