Do more good. Be more green. Have more fun: Why Trails For Good is changing the game.
Imagine your favourite running jacket. It’s been with you through muddy trails, sudden downpours, and golden sunrise jogs. But one day, a tear appears. Do you toss it and buy a new one? Or do you repair it, honour its journey, and keep the adventure going? This is the heart of Trails For Good, a brand that’s more than just about trail running, it’s about sustainability, community, and reconnecting with what truly matters.
Trails For Good believes in repair over replace. Their kit repair services breathe new life into tired gear, reducing waste and making running more sustainable. Beyond the environmental benefits, repair culture fosters community connections: sharing skills, swapping stories, and collectively embracing a more conscious approach to our sport. Most athletic clothing is made from synthetic fibres, materials derived from oil shedding microfibres into the environment, over time. Every discarded piece contributes to waste, making repair one of the most effective ways to reduce our footprint. Trails For Good embraces this philosophy, proving that there are more miles in your favourite running gear.
As part of Trails For Good’s core mission, they are providing opportunities to engage in repair services & to give worn-out kit a second life, from patching holes in shorts, leggings, and shoes to replacing zips on running jackets and bags. Not only does this keep beloved gear in action for longer, but it prevents unnecessary waste, supporting a running culture that’s as eco-conscious as it is adventurous. Keeping running kit in action isn’t just about sustainability, it’s about keeping runners moving, connected, and ready for the next adventure. Because what’s a well-worn jacket or a trusted pair of shoes without the miles they carry?
That’s where Trails For Good’s running community comes in. More than just personal endurance, trail running is about belonging. Through their urban training clubs and trail running events, they create spaces where runners of all levels come together, forging friendships beyond the track. Whether you’re an experienced trail runner or just dipping your toes into the world of off-road running, their inclusive approach welcomes everyone, showing you the way to green spaces on your doorstep.
So, why not give it a try? If you need a jacket patching up, want to dive into a trail running event, or are looking for an urban training club to call home, Trails For Good is here to make sure your journey, both literally and metaphorically, never stops. And if you’re ready to get involved, their next Kit Repair event is happening on 12th July at Markeaton Craft Village. Bring your well-loved gear and book-in to get expert repairs while connecting with like-minded runners. Later that day, lace up your shoes for the urban trail run. Meeting at Darley Park cafe (DE22 1DS), this guided run will take you on a fantastic green route, escaping the city to help you discover Derby's moorlands; a wonderful green space that can be reached on a round trip of less than 9 miles. Whether you’re charging over the terrain or taking it slow to soak in the scenery, there’s a pace for everyone.

In their own words:
"Trails For Good believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy the incredible
green and wild places our nation has to offer, but that for the sake of future generations
we must adventure responsibly.
That is why at our trail race, urban trail club, and kit repair events, you will see us
supporting local businesses, making donations to trail and nature regeneration, and
shouting about our fantastic partners like Storm.
Do more good. Be more green. Have more fun."
