To start the year off right, we’re partnering with Protect Our Winters UK, a partnership built on a shared love for the outdoors.
STORM was founded to empower brands and consumers to care for and repair their gear, creating products that combine a unique environmental approach with class-leading performance. Protect Our Winters UK rally the outdoor community to lead meaningful climate action, bringing together people who see climate change first-hand in the places they love.
By educating the outdoor community and advocating for positive change, POW UK’s mission closely mirrors our own. Together, we believe we can inspire others and help move the outdoor industry in a more responsible direction.
Protect Our Winters UK are charity built by a passionate community of outdoor lovers who care deeply about the places they spend their time. From winters that feel shorter to landscapes changing year on year, they see the impacts of climate change not as a distant issue, but as something happening right now all around us. POW UK exists to bring the outdoor community together, turning a shared love for the outdoors into practical changes that protect the places we all love.
Long before sustainability became a talking point, STORM was built around a simple idea, helping people look after the gear that looks after them. From the beginning, our focus has been on extending the life of apparel, footwear and equipment, reducing waste and supporting better habits within the outdoor community.
Our PFAS free wash system, developed in 2002, allows our cleaner and proofer to be used in one wash cycle, saving water and energy consumption. In 2018 we dropped plastic bottles and jars from our range and moved to 100% recycled aluminium, a 100% perpetually recyclable alternative to plastic. That same mindset continues to shape how we design and develop our products today.
This shared belief in practical action is what makes our partnership with POW UK such a natural fit. While STORM focuses on helping people care for and extend the life of their gear, POW UK brings together a passionate outdoor community to protect the places that gear is used.
POW UK are currently focusing their efforts through their Clean Miles campaign. Transport is one of the biggest contributors to climate change and for many outdoors lovers it makes up a big part of their footprint. Getting to the places that we want to explore often means relying on cars or planes.
Clean Miles calls for public transport which actually meets our needs, with services that are reliable, affordable, well connected and designed with adventure in mind. This means space for bikes, skis, boards and backpacks, making lower impact travel an easy choice for everyone.
